Origin Diego Rivera was born on ocho de Deciembre, 1886 In Guanajuato, Mexico to Diego and Maria Barrientos Rivera Lived in Guanajuato until 1892, when they moved to Mexico City
Time line At age ten Diego starting taking evening printing classes at the San Carlos Academy In 1898 he enrolled there as a full time student In 1906 at the academy’s annual show, he exhibited for the first time, with 26 works By age twenty Diego was an established painter
Diego’s other accomplishments In addition to painting (by now he was focused on murals) Diego participated in the founding of the revolutionary Union of Technical Workers, Painters and sculptors in fall of 1922 Later that year he joined the Mexican Communist party
In the years that followed, Diego was engaged by the Soviet Revolution The Agitator
Travels In 1907 Diego got a travel grant, and went to Spain He also went to France, Belgium, and England In the autumn of 1927 Diego took a trip to the Soviet Union, as a member of an official delegation of the Mexican Communist Party
