10 Interesting fact One interesting thing about Rivera was that in 1902 he was expelled for leading a student protest when Profirio Diaz was reelected president of Mexico. Under the leadership of president Diaz, those who disagreed with government policies faced harassment, imprisonment, and death. Many of Mexico’s citizens lived in poverty, and there were no right to protect workers. After Rivera was expelled, he traveled through out parts of Mexico painting and drawing.
