I want to share “tips for overcoming resistance” Connecting learners to sharers…. …and people with similar things to share or learn… Sarah E Kaia A Fred C Natalia O Jan v O Enrique M I want to learn “(1) the usual (!)- how to integrate RBM and O/M approaches in large complex projects that need to focus on tangible impacts as well as assessments of behavioural changes, particularly within individual and institutional capacity development efforts.  I also second Heidi's suggestion on specific monitoring tools. (2) The experiences others have on using O/M within different cultural contexts. “As I am currently working on the above two issues, I will hopefully soon be able to share my experiences in these areas!” I want to learn “how to facilitate a session with the participation of more powerful-boundary partners? How does one go about telling policymakers, for example, that one wants to change their behaviours? What if they do not see anything wrong with their behaviour? Would we require a 'previous' workshop to address this?” I would like to share “How to use Force Field Analysis to develop a Strategy Map. Force Field analysis can help identify broad strategies and specific activities for each Outcome Challenge their Progress Markers, and even add temporality. In that way the strategy map look more dynamic and easier to related to outcomes” I want to learn “how people have made monitoring work; I so often hear that projects/program teams aren’t able to keep up their monitoring so I’d like to try and figure out what makes it work and what makes it fall apart and detangle the methodological, process, and workload elements so I can give advice to project/program teams based on this community's real-life experiences.” I want to share “How to use OM with participants that are hostile to it or aren’t interested in learning about it.  For example, how to run an OM workshop without ever referring to the methodology or the jargon.” I want to learn “(1) what to do and what not to do when trying to combine RBM and logic models with OM. (I think I already did one of the "not to do"). I also want to be able to convince colleagues (who may be hostile or skeptical) to view an OM approach as a solution to focus important results (2) how to use OM tools effectively for monitoring. I want to share “how I am using OM in a large public sector institution to foster organizational and cultural change” I want to learn: “(1) How different groups have experimented with and improved the Organizational Practices component of OM and (2) What complementary tools, methodologies and exercises people have used for each of the stages in OM (i.e. Enriques example of Force Field Analysis)” I want to share “(1) My experiences in actually implementing OM with a natural resource mangaement project [by implementation I mean doing the monitoring, using the OM tools / journals and others] (2) Some tips and pointers for organizing an OM workshop” I want to learn: “Clear and practice based constraints and possibilities of putting LogFrame & OM together (for planning and M&E). I have some own experiences and a few theoretical thinking, but I am most interested in 'how-to' link both approaches and 'how-to' support changes in existing M&E systems.”   I want to share “experiences with OM workshops. The approaches and possibilities to introduce OM to a diverse public within 24-hours and 'how-to' work with OM without mentioning it.” I want to learn “more about how to outcome mapping can be used in post-disaster / rehabilitation situations, particularly looking at how it might be used in linking relief and development efforts.” I want to share “my experiences of how OM can support knowledge management and organisational learning strategies.” I want to learn what are the “10 most common arguments against using OM” I want to share “tips for overcoming resistance” One thing I want to learn: “is the application of OM a forum of development stakeholders spread out through a large region. The forum I refer to is called the Eastern Indonesia Forum. This consists of broad range of stakeholders. The aim of the forum is to become a knowledge community which, through the sharing of knowledge, networks and resources, are able to influence development in the region to become more effective within each member's sphere of influence. The forum hopes to be a conduit for more effective development based on the Paris Declaration (March 2005) for increasing aid effectiveness… it does seem to me that OM is relevant herem and in many of the projects oriented towards social change in Indonesia, especially for (CDD) projects…”   Who’s next?   One thing I want to learn: “How does OM relate to the beneficiaries - how are they involved - and how do we involve the right people? One thing I would like to share: “ would like to share IICD's M&E methodology and see where it has similarities with OM. To learn more, please visit: http://www.iicd.org/evaluation”   I want to share “[my view of] OM as potentially useful at (at least) two levels: 1. Behavioural changes among policy makers and stakeholders in the process of "mainstreaming" energy in development planning, including appreciating energy as an essential input to all the MDGs, and explicit inclusion in Poverty Reduction Strategies. (2) Behavioural change in energy end-users - for example potential users of improved cookstoves.”   I want to learn “from advice or experience on using OM in such contexts, especially in the area of multi-sector policy coordination where we are interested in promoting and facilitating dialogue between policy makers acoss ministerial and organisational boundaries.” I want to learn “have others experienced constraints when applying learning-based PCM approaches? Are there ways to get around some of these issues? Are some learning-oriented approaches more appropriate than others?” I want to share “…a number of comments from various authors about possible constraints when applying learning-based PCM approaches, in the context of capacity development in the education sector in Africa…” I want to learn “more about experiences with programme evaluations carried out within an outcome mapping framework. This is our first year of implementing outcome mapping in the St2eep programme and while the monitoring is ongoing, we will have to start planning for a meaningful end of year evaluation.” I want to share “(1) tips on the role of donor organisations who support change processes which are guided by outcome mapping. (2) practical experiences on the challenge of keeping the monitoring process going and making sure it promotes learning and is carried out by groups of people…” I would like to learn “(1) Which are the stakeholders that one should consider in OM and how to identify them better? How to identify boundary partners in a better way, how to differentiate them from strategic partners and other stakeholders that a program may aim to intarct to influence BP environment? And (2) How to define M&E priorities and how to manage the infor that is collected not to be overwhelmed with loads of info and effectively use it? I want to share: “Experiences on what to do and what not to do when trying to combine RBM and OM.” I want to learn “how anyone has used OM in complex systems for change (such as change in a large organization)” I want to share “issues around linking the organizational practices (OP) with other aspects of organizational assessment and strategic planning: OPs deal with the creative and learning processes of a project, program or organization, but not the overall capacities, motivations and contexts in which the group works. how can these be linked, and how can they be linked to organizational improvement?” Heidi S Beatrice B Ben R ?
