PLAY Explain SAY {Nebukad nezzer=Nebuchadnezzar}, the king of Babylon, invaded Jerusalem, captured the King of Israel, and took valuable items from God’s temple. PLAY Alert SAY He told his chief official, Ashpenaz, to bring the finest young people from Judah to the city of Babylon. SAY When an animal was slaughtered for meat, it was done in a special way so that all the blood would be drained from the carcass. PLAY Explain SAY Ashpenaz liked Daniel and wanted to help him, but he was afraid of what the king might say. PLAY Confused SAY Suppose he brought the food they requested, and they became ill? PLAY Sad SLIDE 10 = SAY The king might put him to death.

PLAY RestPose SLIDE 11 = SAY The official agreed. For ten days Daniel and his friends ate vegetables and drank water while the others ate the king’s food and wine.

PLAY DoMagic1 SAY Some foods and other things are better for us than others, and some things (like tobacco, alcohol, and drugs) are really very harmful to our bodies. SAY Other things are all right in moderation, but we shouldn’t {over-do=overdo} them. Sometimes we must choose between what’s good and what’s best. PLAY Alert SAY To live in ways that please God, we must care for the bodies God has given us. Of course, this is best for us, too.
