SAY He was a devout Jew who was living in Jerusalem. PLAY Sad SAY Saul wanted to hunt down the people who followed Jesus, who called themselves members of "the Way." PLAY GestureUp SAY He was on his way to the city of Damascus, in Syria, the nation to the north of Israel. SLIDE 5 = SAY He traveled with a group of officers who were acting as a kind of police force. Jerusalem

PLAY GestureLeft SAY He had approved of the stoning of Stephen, who was a follower of Jesus, in Jerusalem. SAY He had dragged many believers off to prison. PLAY DoMagic1 SLIDE 6 = SAY His next target was the believers in Damascus.

PLAY Sad SAY He stayed there, blind and confused. PLAY Explain SAY He did not eat or drink anything for three days. PLAY Pleased SAY This man who wanted to destroy Jesus' followers prayed! PLAY DoMagic1 SLIDE 11 = SAY He had met Jesus,\pau=600\ and for \emp\him everything had changed.

11 ^*#{}#*^ MOVE 10,45 PLAY Explain SAY In Damascus, there lived a believer named {an an ias.=Ananias.} PLAY DoMagic1 SAY One day, God told him to go to Judas' house, on Straight Street, and ask for a man from Tarsus, named Saul. PLAY RestPose SAY God told {an an ias=Ananias} that Saul had seen a man in a vision, who would come and place his hands on him, to restore his sight. PLAY Confused SAY "Lord," {an an ias=Ananias} replied, "I have heard about this man named Saul." SAY "I know that he has harmed many of Your followers in Jerusalem. He has come here to arrest people who trust in Jesus. SAY "Go!" the Lord replied. "I have chosen this man to tell the Gentiles and their kings and the Jews about Jesus." PLAY Pleased SAY {an an ias=Ananias} obeyed God. He found Saul, placed his hands on him, and said PLAY LookLeft SAY "Brother Saul, the {Lord!=Lord} -- \pau=300\ \emp\Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here --\pau=500\ has sent me to you, so that you may see again, and be filled with the Holy Spirit." SAY Something like scales dropped from Saul's eyes. PLAY Congratulate SLIDE 12 = SAY He could see again!

12 ^*#{}#*^ MOVE 75, 45 PLAY Explain SAY Saul then got up and was baptized. PLAY RestPose SAY He began witnessing for Jesus, and preaching in Damascus. PLAY Pleased SAY Saul's name was changed to Paul. SAY He went on to travel to many different countries to tell people about Jesus. PLAY DoMagic1 SLIDE 13 = SAY He also wrote many of the letters we have today in the New Testament.

13 ^*#{}#*^ MOVE 40,25 PLAY Explain SAY God loved Saul, even though he wanted to kill Jesus' followers. PLAY Pleased SAY God helped him to change to someone who loved Jesus and told others about him SAY In the same way, God loves \emp\you, and will help you to change into a better person. SAY God is interested in each part of \emp\your life. SAY You can trust Him for help in difficult times, praise Him in happy times, and believe in Jesus as Savior to save you from your sins. SAY Just as Saul trusted God, boys and girls today can trust Him to do what is best for \emp\ them, as they try to live in ways that please God.
