Alcohol & Consent
Its OK for two intoxicated adults to engage in sexual activity. Agree----Unsure----Disagree
Scenario Youre at a party where people are drinking. You notice a guy trying to convince an obviously drunk woman to go into a bedroom with him. Shes not just buzzed – shes stumbling over her own feet. You know the woman and she seems reluctant.
Train of Thought… Theyre both adults… But she cant be fully consenting if shes drunk, can she?... Ive heard about too many cases of sexual assault that start out like this… Could this be one in the making?...Will this guy even listen to me?....Is it part of my responsibility to provide him with some guidance?...What, if anything, am I supposed to do in a situation like this?
Active Bystanders Intervene… Directly Indirectly Using Distractions By engaging Friends and/or Allies After the Fact or Next Day
