Salutary Neglect A 17th and 18th century British policy of avoiding strict enforcement of parliamentary laws that were meant to keep American colonies obedient to England.

Ben Franklin One of our Founding Fathers. Leading author, printer, and politician. Wrote Albany Plan trying to unite colonists against Britain. Join or Die Political cartoon.

John Peter Zenger Trial A printer that worked for the NY Weekly Journal Arrested and convicted for criticizing the governor Case set president for freedom of press today

Poor Richard’s Almanac Poor Richard's Almanac was a yearly almanac published by Benjamin Franklin, who adopted the pseudonym of "Poor Richard" or "Richard Saunders" for this purpose. The publication appeared continually from 1732 to 1758. It sold exceptionally well for a pamphlet published in the American colonies; print runs reached 10,000 per year
