Blackboard Evaluation Criteria AY 2017-2018 Spring and Summer

Term 4 Term 5

Term 4 – Beginner Level *Must use tool *Must use tool

Contact Information – 1% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ”

Contact Information – 1% Please be sure that you use the Contacts tool Enter all required information: Instructor Name Office Location and Number Office/Mobile/Phone Number Course Title and Code Office Hours Be sure to click “Make profile available” Add the contact info to your menu by clicking the “+” sign at the top and choosing “Tool Link” Name your link For Type choose “Contacts” Check “Available to Users” and click “Submit”

Course Materials – 15% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ” Almost every time you click “build content” and add an item, you will be adding a material. Folders themselves are 1 item; everything inside the folder is a separate item. Learning Modules follow this same rule – everything inside the module counts as a separate item. Uploaded audio-visual items and embedded videos and sound files will not count toward your items.

Syllabus - 1% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ”

Syllabus – 1% Please be sure that you use the Syllabus tool You can create a syllabus using the tool, or you can choose “Use Existing file” This is best for the ELC because we have set syllabi You cannot simply upload a file to fulfill this requirement

Grade Center - 6% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ”

Calendar- 2% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ” Simply adding a due date to any assignments, tests, discussion boards, or journals that you create will fulfill this requirement. You can also add items by going to the calendar and clicking the “+” in the top right corner.

Announcements - 4% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ” You can create new announcements yourself, or you can simply click “Add a new announcement” for any tests that you make. *Note that assessments, discussion boards, and journals will not create a new announcement.

Discussion Boards/Journals - 6% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ” *This means you must have 3 different discussion boards, not three threads within 1 board. *Note that students must create their own threads and not simply reply to an existing thread in order to fulfill this requirement.

Student Interaction - 5% *excerpt from “STRATEGIC PLAN FOR EFFECTIVELY USING BLACKBOARD LEARN AT CCQ” You will be assessed on how often students use your specific Blackboard course. Adding assessments and discussion boards on Bb can help raise your level of student interaction.

Review plus student interaction which is 5%! *Must use tool
