First, the Rhineland Hitler begins rebuilding the armed forces March 7, 1936- three battalions of the German Army crossed the bridges over the Rhine and entered into the industrial heartland of Germany known as the Rhineland.

Annexing Austria March 12, 1938-German soldiers and tanks roll across Austrian/German border Met with no resistance, not a single shot fired-praised and cheered instead

The Munich Conference Both the taking of the Rhineland and Austria violated the Versailles Treaty Hitler claims the Sudetenland, the western part of Czechoslovakia is German territory. Fearful of war, Neville Chamberlain of Britain asks Hitler for a meeting.

Lying through his teeth Munich Conference- Germany, Italy, Britain and France meet to discuss the Sudetenland Hitler promises to not try and gain any new territory as long as the Sudetenland became German territory To avoid war, Britain and France give in and allow Hitler to take the Sudetenland, “appeasement”

So what did Hitler get out of it?
