Let’s create a new, healthier school lunch menu! Adapted from iCivics.com

Step 1: Lead Chefs Select THREE HEALTHY Food Categories to be served each day at school

Step 2: Menu Writers create the exact menu for the day’s lunch, using the choices selected by the Lead Chefs

Step 3: Lead Chefs must decide whether the menu created fits their idea of a healthy lunch

Step 4 (if Lead Chefs did not approve): Menu Writers must decide to change or override the menu

Step 5: Nutrition Inspectors must decide what “healthy” means

Step 5 (cont.): Nutrition Inspectors must decide if the menu meets their definition of “healthy”

Exit Card: Where’s the Check? Congress passes a law naming 15 university students guilty of crimes against the government, and orders them expelled from school.
