PROBLEMS RELATED TO ANIMALS CAPTIVITY: The animals in captivity is increasing especially in some restaurants which are using animal captivity to attract more people. In some of them are being created small improvised zoos etc with very bad conditions for animals. The actual legal status for the protection of animals in the country dos not protect the animal rights against captivity and cruelty. Public awareness is low and people do not support animal rights.

TWA is surveying captivity in Albania. Aim: Estimate the number of brown bear and other wildlife in captivity as real facts to be used in the future for protection of animal rights and welfare. WHY ?

Development public awareness programm against captivity and cruelty of animals, press release etc. Improvement and implementation of the existing law for captivity, related in the future to: The political will and abilities of the state authorities See the availability to create in the future host places, bear/wolf sanctuary etc.
