Study Group #2 Faculty Development Workshops at the Partner Language Training Center Europe (PLTCE)

Study Group Aim Background: BILC’s emphasis on testing support has led to questions concerning support for teacher faculty development PLTCE has projected Faculty Development Workshops and was seeking input from the BILC community concerning appropriate topics and content

Discussions (1) SG members provided ideas and suggestions for workshop topics and content via discussions and a survey. In addition to refining the list of possible topics, additional ideas arose: Cultural awareness Use of Moodle Facilitating self study Mobile apps

Discussions (2) Deadline for submissions: 6 June Courses in several countries were identified as appropriate for teacher development e.g. Austria and Hungary provided examples Czech Republic offered to put together a matrix of teacher development opportunities for the BILC web site jan.smid@army.cz Deadline for submissions: 6 June

Conclusion Study Group # 2 provided excellent input Will be reviewed very carefully PLTCE is planning the first workshop for 2015
