The Last Great Civilization of the Mesopotamia. The Persians The Last Great Civilization of the Mesopotamia.

Cyrus The Great 1st person in human history to set out to conquer the world! Wanted to spread zoroastism to all people of the world.

Military conquests 554 B.C. Defeated the Medes for control of all Persia. Shortly afterwards conquered Asia Minor. Conquered Babylon in 539 B.C. Died in 529 B.C. Considered by some as the greatest conqueror in the history of the world!

The Persian Empire

525 B.C. Cambyses conquers Egypt.

Darius extends the empire to the farthest reaches. United all of Persia by dividing all of Persia into provinces, each paid taxes, roads built, and created an economy based on exchange of coins.

Persians controlled an empire until 330 B.C. until he came along…

Alexander the Great conquers the Persians, thus ending the last civilization of the Mesopotamia…
