A Definition of a Love Relationship; Love is: a unifying response between two people who care for and have said “yes” to each other’s total being. It presumes mutual acceptance, of each other, freedom and trust and it seeks the fulfillment and happiness of the other as a common goal.

Decide to Care! Agape = “To wish well” – To desire the total good of others. The core of all love is caring. To truly love another is to care unselfishly about the other person’s total welfare in the context of that person’s real life circumstances. Genuine love always desires good and not harm. Loving is a free decision to care.

The Four Loves Frederick Buechner The love for equals is a human thing---of friend for friend, brother for brother. It is to love what is loving and lovely. The world smiles. The love for the less fortunate is a beautiful thing---the love for those who suffer, for those who are poor, the sick, the failures, the unlovely. This is compassion, and it touches the heart of the world. The love for the more fortunate is a rare thing---to love those who succeed where we fail, to rejoice without envy with those who rejoice, the love of the poor for the rich, of the black man for the white man. The world is always bewildered by its saints. And then there is the love for the enemy---love for the one who does not love you but mocks, threatens, and inflicts pain. Separation, Divorce and Annulment A married couple living apart from each other yet still being in a legal and maybe Sacramental marriage. Divorce The ending of a marriage contract by a court of law. This only effects the legal union, not the sacramental union. Annulment A decision by the Church that a sacramental marriage never existed in the first place. A person who has obtained both a legal divorce from the state and a Declaration of Nullity from the Church is permitted to seek a Sacramental marriage in the Church.
