Room on a budget What do you need

Flooring Flooring- you may choose from hardwood, carpet, vinyl or laminate flooring. You will not find these on the internet, but in the classroom I will have bins in the kitchens with the different types of flooring You will need to find what you want. NOTE: the price per square foot should be attached to the picture You will then need to find the area of the room and determine how much the total price will be for the flooring You do not need to change the flooring in the closet The flooring may be purchased from Lowes, Home Depot or Menards. You choose

Paint Paint: As with the flooring you will find your paint color or colors in the classroom. You will find the color or colors you, show me and I will tell you how many gallons of paint you will need. The cost of the paint is $21.99 and you will purchase from Lowes

Lighting General lighting: THIS IS A NEED You must replace the ceiling light that is currently in the room. You may replace it with a ceiling fan that has a light attachment, chandelier, or track lighting Task lighting: If you want you may put some task lighting in the room. Examples of this type of lighting are desk lamps, lamps on dressers, nightstand or end tables, floor lamps next to a chair for reading. Mood lighting: This type of lighting would be a want. Examples of mood lighting are black light, lava lamps, disco balls, Christmas or rope light around the room

Window treatments Shades and blinds Examples are: pull down shades, bamboo shades, mini blinds, and roman shades When you purchase shades or blinds they need to be at least the width of the window. If the window measures 24 wide the shade needs to be at least 24 wide

Window treatments (cont.) Curtains and drapes When you purchase curtains or drapes the panels must be at least 2 ½ to 3 times the width of the window. If the window measures 48 wide the curtain panels need to be at least 110 wide. You may have to purchase 2 sets of curtains to meet this requirement. You will also need to decide how long (length) you want the curtains to be. You will be given options (usually through a drop down menu). The price may vary with the length. 62 is the window sill – 80 or longer would be to the floor. You must buy a new curtain rod. If the window measures 52 the minimum length of the rod should be 52
