Calculating Density

To find the volume of a regular-shaped object use the formula:

Length X Width X Height L X W X H

Find the volume of the cube below. 1 cm 1 cm 1 cm 1 cm

1cm X 1cm X 1cm = 1 cubic cm

1 cm3 = 1 cubic cm

Water is the standard when comparing the densities of different objects.

1 mL of water would fill up 1 cm3 , therefore 1 mL of water = 1 cm3

1 mL of water = 1 g of water , therefore 1 mL of water = 1 cm3 of water = 1 g of water

10 mL of water = cm3 = g of water.

10 mL of water = 10 cm3 = 10 g of water.

200 mL of water = cm3 = g of water.

200 mL of water = 200 cm3 = 200 g of water.
