3 The amount of space that a three-dimensional object takes up is called its volume. Volume For example, we can use mm 3, cm 3, m 3 or km 3. The 3 tells us that there are three dimensions, length, width and height. Volume is measured in cubic units.

4 Capacity Liquid volume or capacity is measured in millilitres, litres, pints or gallons. Note: 1 ml of water has a volume of 1 cm 3
