Objectives of this Presentation What is Title VI? How does it apply to the work of THSO Grantees? What are YOUR responsibilities as a THSO Grantee? What a THSO Grantee can expect? Questions? Where can YOU find resources? 2015 GHSO Grant Orientation Workshop

Title VI Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, prohibits discrimination based on race, color, and national origin. Specifically, 42, USC 200d states that; “No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal Financial assistance.” What?

How does it apply to the work you do ? Your organization receives federal financial assistance in the form of a grant to implement a program or activity, which obligates your organization to Title VI responsibilities… How does it apply to the work you do ?

What are THSO Grantees’ Responsibilities Agency Lead Appoint a VI Coordinator Provide Title VI Training Develop a Title VI Program Grantee Required Title VI Posters: Handouts available Completion and submission of a Title VI survey- includes reporting of info related to system to report complaints.

What can THSO Grantees’ Expect? Site & Desk Monitoring by THSO Program Staff Each grantee will be required to complete an on-line survey. The form is accessible at: http://tntrafficsafety.org/titlevi. The deadline for completion is September 30, 2019. Duplicate reporting won’t occur: drop down boxes for quick input of information. Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency

Objectives What is the Federal Accountability and Transparency Act? Who has to comply with FFATA? How will FFATA information be reported? When will the information be collected from our agency?

What is FFATA? The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2206 ensures that the public can access information on all entities and organizations receiving Federal funds. Development of www.USASpending.gov website with searchable info on each Federal grant and contract $25,000 or more.

Who has to comply? Grantees receiving awards that are $25,000 or more must submit a completed FFATA form Represents only 106 of our grantees receiving funding from THSO

How will the data be reported? FFATA reporting form Sent to agencies from their PMs Will need to be completed and sent back within 2 weeks from receipt Many of the columns will be prepopulated with information Focus is on “Yes” and “No” questions
