Persuasion in Advertising: 5 techniques that advertisers use to get you to buy their stuff!

Bandwagon Persuades you to buy a product because “everyone else is doing it”, makes it look really fun! Always shows a GROUP of people…

Testimonial using words of a person (can be famous) to persuade you to buy it, may even show “proof”

Emotional Words using words or actions to make people feel emotional about that product- FEAR/ LOVE

Repetition, Repetition, Repetition name of the product is repeated at least 3-4 times in the ad (sticks in your head)

Transfer using one thing to sell another (have nothing to do with each other, but when you see that image you think of the product)
