General Supervision SPP/APR Data Collection Dispute Resolution System Policies, Practices and Procedures Monitoring Activities Improvement, Correction, Incentives, & Sanctions Targeted Technical Assistance Fiscal Management Core Element 2 LEA Self-Assessment General Supervision defines the responsibilities of the EC Division and of LEA EC services. NCDPI has the responsibility to ensure that all children with disabilities receive FAPE. The comprehensive general supervision system: 1. Supports practices that improve educational results and functional outcomes for children and youth with disabilities; Uses multiple methods to identify and correct noncompliance; and Utilizes mechanisms to encourage and support improvement and enforce compliance. Continuum of Transitions SSIP: Focus for Improvement Academics Continuum of Transitions Behavior Engagement So while General Supervision defines the responsibilities of the EC Division and of LEA EC services, the State Systemic Improvement Plan, or SSIP, focuses specifically on improvement in graduation rates for students with disabilities. To accomplish that goal, the EC Division has identified broad root causes to inform our focus statewide on Academics, Behavior, and the Continuum of Transitions. For each of these, it will be necessary to consider how we are addressing engagement of students, staff, families, and communities. This framework allows you to inform, explain and make connections between Academics, Behavior, Continuum of Transitions and Engagement to increase the success of every student. Engagement efforts should encourage students and families to be involved in the process from PreK through adulthood.

Risk Pool vs Special State Reserve RP Federal Funds- PRC 114 Application due date: Sept. 15th Child was enrolled the previous year. Child specific, provide support High needs Minimum rubric score of 8 Cost requirement- 3 times the per pupil expenditure amount (2015-16 $8,645 X 3= $25,935) Services are documented in IEP Cannot provide funds for teacher salaries SSR State Funds- PRC 063/036 Application due within 60 days of enrollment/change Child is new to the LEA or application submitted due to a change in condition. What is meant by “high need?” Behaviors that: are not age-appropriate or typical present as a safety issue have not been corrected through appropriately applied interventions (PBIS, MTSS, BIP, etc) Physical or medical needs Life skill challenges: self help, self care, hygiene Specific needs that call for specialized support Communication needs

Group/Foster Home Funds State PRC 032 and Federal PRC 060 For children new to the LEA who are residing in a licensed Group or Foster Home. Application/ Roster due within 60 calendar days of enrollment. PowerSchool enrollment documentation must be attached (transfer record). The Group/Foster Home must be licensed by the appropriate agency for 24 hour child care. Withdrawals are to be submitted within 30 calendar days.
