ACP-EU Co-operation Programme in Higher Education (EDULINK II) Implemented by the ACP Secretariat This project is financed by the European Union ACP-EU Co-operation Programme in Higher Education (EDULINK II) EuropeAid/132023/D/ACT/ACPTPS Grant Contract No. :FED/2013/320-203 Establishing and Piloting Postgraduate Programmes for Supporting Agricultural Development in Post Conflict Countries of Central and Eastern Africa, (ADECEA) Overall objective: Enhanced Agricultural productivity and income of smallholder farmers in three post conflict countries of Eastern and Central Africa Specific Objective Create partnerships and institutional arrangements for purpose of establishing post-graduate training in the post-conflict countries Enhance management of training and research internship among participating African universities Develop detailed course content for the approved masters’ programmes to initiate the process of aligning the existing systems in the three countries to the 3-2-3 LMD system. Programmes in the partner institutions developed and approved Detailed course contents for five MSc. Programmes developed and approved Alignment of all the five programmes to the Licence-Maitrise-Doctorat (LMD) system initiated Pioneer groups of masters students in the developed masters programmes recruited and trained Impacts Creation of a national forum in each of the targeted countries, increased participation in international conferences, resource mobilisation and number of publications of involved staff Contribution Increased quality of higher education institutions in targeted post conflict countries through capacity building, alignment of existing systems to LMD and piloting of post graduate programmes Beneficiaries: Students, targeted HEIs, NARS and farmers Fig. 2 One section of catchment
