Presentation transcript:

Translation Test You are going to translate a story from your textbook. Instead of counting as a homework grade, this will count as a test grade! (worth 30% of your grade) This test is open book meaning you can look up words you do not understand. I will grade you based on how well you are able to translate into English!

Remember: Verbs go at the end of a sentence in Latin and need to be moved when translated into English. There is no “the” or “a” in Latin. This means you have to add them when translating into English.

GRADING BREAKDOWN SENTENCE: amicus cibum gustat. amicus coquum laudat. Example 1: amicus food eats. amicus also drinks. (-10 points) Example 2: Friend food taste. Friend cook praises. (-6 points) Example 3: Friend tastes food. Friend praises cook. (-4 points) Example 4: The friends tastes the food. The friend praises the cook. (-0 points)
