5. Writing and Speaking For writing and speaking the following will be covered: The writing process – MP 1, 2, 3 & 4 Narrative writing – MP2 Persuasive writing – MP 1, 2, 3 & 4 Informative writing – MP3 Writing a research paper – MP 1, 2, 3 & 4 Oral presentations – MP 2 & 4

Topics not covered in the order they are presented here * Please note * No Book socks of any type may be used to cover books! * All assignments must be completed on paper without frayed edges!

8. Grading All assignments given and activities completed are assigned a point value. Students receive points depending on how much of the assignment is done correctly. A student’s marking period grade is determined by dividing the points they have earned by the total possible points. This results in a percentage grade that will appear on their report card. Grades are entered into a computer-grading program which increases the accuracy of the percentages.
