OPENING JANUARY 29,2018-GET YOUR TEXTBOOKS Answer the following questions: Where do you encounter advertising? What are some memorable advertisements? What makes them memorable? Do you think advertisements have an effect on personal interests?

1.bandwagon - everyone else has it, I should too! Vocab. Unit 2: Act. 2.4 - pictures on lesson slide 1.bandwagon - everyone else has it, I should too! 2.avant-garde - be cool, one of the first or few to have a product 3.testimonials - people say good things about a product (often use famous people) 4.facts & figures - provable statements, statistics & percentages convince the buyer...can be misleading!! 5.transfer - associating emotions with an ad, usually good feelings

Everyone else has it, so I should have it too!! Cool people have it, 1st to have it, only SOME have it (sense of being special) People (normal or famous) say good things about product

Your groups you will look at your assigned technique, paraphrase and create a visual for your technique. You need one person to facilitate (lead), one person to record (write) and one person to draw the visual. The person who leads will be the spokesperson for the group. You are placing your information in your book and reporting out to the class your paraphrase and drawing. You have 10 minutes! This is a grade!
