Lesson 1 Words About Language Sophisticated language is one of the human developments that has made us the most powerful species on Earth. Our languages allow us to communicate across space and time: We can learn from the past, leave information for people yet to be born, or communicate with someone on the other side of the world. The words in this lesson will help you understand and discuss different aspects of language.
