Recognition of Supervisors: The Refresher

What are the roles (& responsibilities) of the Educational Supervisor What are the roles (& responsibilities) of the Educational Supervisor? What are the challenges to doing it well?

EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISOR Supervises trainee for a programme CLINICAL SUPERVISOR Supervises trainee for a placement WORKPLACE / SESSIONAL SUPERVISOR / TRAINER Provides workplace (clinical?) supervision

GMC recognition of Trainers Since summer 2016 Requirement to be trained for the role to have an enhanced appraisal assessing ES role Maintain recognition every 5 years Refresher course or alternative CPD (10hrs with 8 hrs face to face) Had enhanced appraisal assessing ES role Received and reflected on feedback on ES reports submitted to ARCP
