Symbolism

What is Symbolism? A symbol is an object, a person, or an event that functions as itself but also stands for something more than itself. Symbolism is using symbols to represent abstract ideas or qualities. In literature symbols can be: An action Person Place Word Object Metaphor Color Season Etc.

Brainstorm & Create With 1-2 other people in your table group, come up with a symbol (not a logo) you and your classmates would find familiar… Write down the name of the symbol Draw the symbol Explain the literal meaning of the symbol Explain the symbolic meaning or associations people make with the symbol
