Who responded to the staff survey? A total of 494 staff were invited to complete the survey, and 127 staff members responded (resulting in a 26% response rate). Q1 – What is your current job classification? N = 127

Reasons bottom areas received “below average” or “poor” ratings. There is little communication with the district. Frequently get bounced around between college and District Office. District office does not communicate changes in policies, rules, and procedures to the college making the process to complete jobs inefficient. Most of the information I receive on a daily basis come from my coworkers. Most of the information I receive on a daily basis comes from my manager. What are major obstacles to the flow of communication you have experienced in the past year? One-third of the respondents or more reported these experiences. I receive important information through the “grapevine.” (49%) Top administrators seem hesitant to communicate news to other employees. (33%) There is little or no flow of important information. (32%) Other reasons such as timeliness of communication, limited campus hours, irrelevant emails. (32%) Too many “gatekeepers” of information who hinder the flow of important information.
