Middle Ages A period in European history that lasted from about 500 to about 1500 A.D. A time period between ancient times and modern times

Magna Carta An English Charter that limited royal power. Laws used to limit the power of the king.

Epidemic A disease that spreads quickly An outbreak

Domesday Book (dooms day) Made in 1086 for King William to keep track of all the people and property of England Like the Census

Monastery A community where monks live, study, and pray. A town area where monks live and work.

Serf A person who lived on and farmed feudal land. A peasant or farmer

Chivalry A Knight’s code of conduct or behavior Like Bushido….The rules knights follow.

Lady A woman of nobility A rich or noble woman
