General Music Day Thirty

Bell Work How To Always LABEL you bell work with the date. You may use the same page for several of your bell works. ALWAYS use at least THREE complete sentences to answer the question. Save your bell work for bell work check in’s. If you miss class, you may go onto Mrs V’s website to get the missed bell work question. It is YOUR responsibility to get the bell work completed.

Bell Work #30 What does the music that is popular with people your age say about your generation? (Are you serious, not serious? What do you stand for? What is your generation going to be known for?) Use three complete sentences!

Planner Homework: Facebook project due Thursday!

Today I will learn: I will demonstrate my knowledge of musical composers through the creation of a Facebook page.

Face Book Project 1. Objective: Using your class notes and any other additional research necessary, create a Facebook page featuring your composer. We will draw for composers in class. There will be an opportunity to use creative writing as well as narrative writing based on facts. This project is due: October 3rd. 2. You will be drawing for composers. You may not switch with anyone, you must keep the composer you drew.

Face book project 1. There is a PROFILE PAGE and a STATUS PAGE.

Profile Page Include ONE picture of your composer. Left- hand column complete: Composer Name Relationship status Birthday (don’t forget—month, day, and year) Include TWO pictures of friends that your composer would have had—place their name in the box below their picture. Include FIVE life events in order—include the date and the event. (Ex: 1898 Composed first symphony “Symphony No. 1” ) Right-hand column complete: LIST: Activities (at least three) LIST: Interests (at least three) LIST: Compositions (at least four) Favorite Quotation (at least one) About Me (TEN COMPLETE SENTENCES) **You may use an additional sheet if necessary.

Status Page Include TWO pictures of your composer. Include the NAME of your composer, where he worked and lived, and a status. You will have FOUR recent activity posts: Each post should be at least FIVE sentences long. The “With” will be either who has written the post, or who your composer was with at the time of the post. Friend’s Comment—create a comment a friend of your composer would post on their page. (it can be about a life event, composition, invention, historical event, etc.) Music Related Event—create a post telling about a music related event your composer would have been involved in. (the first performance of a musical work, special concert, etc.) Life Event—create a comment about a life event your composer experienced (an encounter with a famous person, birth of a child, marriage, etc.) Historical Event—create a post about a historical event that occurred in the lifetime of your composer (an invention, world war, etc.)

Rubric You must hand in your rubric with your poster.

Exit: Which composer are you doing for your Face Book project? What is one thing you will focus on for your project? What should your audience know about your composer? USE COMPLETE SENTENCES!
