Pathways to Knowledge™

The Pathways to Knowledge Model is... a nonlinear, holistic information process model which provides a framework for Information Literacy skills. District interest in this model developed out of a study group of media specialists looking at the national information literacy standards during the 1998-99 school year. This group presented the concept to Carol Webb and Kathy Learn for consideration and a committee was formed to pursue implementation of the model In February of this year, teacher, TAG, and media specialist teams from the elementary schools Participated in a full-day workshop with Dr. Marjorie Pappas and Anne Teppe -- co-authors of the model. © 2000 Follett Software Company

Vision Provide a common language and method of research that will encompass all grade levels K-12. As students become more adept with the research strategies, they will move from a position of " learning to do research" to one of "doing research to learn."
