Race Ley’s Infant School How can we help Eco-island? By Race Ley’s Infant School

We have chosen to help sky City with it’s air pollution problems. First we need to look at our local environment.

Air pollution “Sometimes we call it smog.” “It makes places not nice to live there.” “Letting chemicals and smoke into our air.” “Sometimes it smells.” “We can’t see very well.”

Pollutes our air: Kind to our air:

We looked at how our class travels to school. Our local environment. We looked at how our class travels to school. Our class was good because most of us walked Its better to walk and bike instead of driving to school. The teachers are not very eco-friendly. Most of them drive.

We did a traffic survey of our local area Our local environment. We did a traffic survey of our local area “We counted all the cars and all the people who walked, the vans, bikes, buses and other vehicles.” “We made a tally.”

What we learnt from our traffic survey “There were more cars which is bad for our air.” “If there’s only a few people walking then it’s not good.” We need to tell people the best way to travel. We could put up posters

What can we tell Eco-island? “Eco-island don’t travel in cars!” “We can be better if we stop using cars.” “Walking is a good thing to do. Or biking. There’s no pollution.” We weren’t being kind to our air. Eco-island had lots of cars too.”

We designed some eco-friendly forms of transport. “Eco-friendly is good because it doesn’t let smoke and gas in our air.”

Here are some of our inventions.

We hope our idea’s help you clean up Sky city!
