Course Creation, Student Enrollments Courses created for faculty when department staff add 'Faculty of Record' to course in CMS Students added/deleted automatically based on CMS enrollments Faculty can manually add students in Canvas to give access sooner
Term Start/End Dates, Publish Course Students gain access to the course according to the start and end date of the course By default the start and end date of the course is the first day and last day is two weeks after grades are due, but can be changed by the instructor. You must publish your course for students to see the course contents.
Plan: Course Building Strategies Build from Scratch Start fresh with a blank shell and build your Canvas course. Re-build a Migrated Course Import all content from a migrated course into your Canvas course shell and clean up/re-organize content. Hybrid Approach Start from scratch in Canvas and import some migrated content (e.g., assignments, files, quizzes).
