THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY of DISTRICT 5170

WHAT IS THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY? A District-Administered Donor Recognition Program

REQUIREMENTS Must give at least $1,000 per year Only NEW MONEY counts towards PHS membership Recognition Points DO NOT count Permanent Fund Contributions DO NOT qualify

The Foundation Needs More Support With the ever-increasing involvement of Rotary clubs in Foundation Programs, the need for increased contributions is apparent.  Decreased donation income has caused a large reduction in Humanitarian Grant allocations.

To Help Clubs increase their PHS membership, District 5170 Will Provide Paul Harris Society Brochure A PHS membership certificate A list of benefits to The Rotary Foundation and to those who join the PHS Example member solicitation letters Example club presentations Thank you letters to donors A list of a club’s potential PHS members A new PHS web page to download support items

Status of the District’s Paul Harris Society  Of its 3,915 Rotarians, 2006/2007, 96 were PHS members 2007/2008, 136 2008/2009, 160 2009/2010 Goal - 240

To Become a PHS Member Upon receipt of $1,000 Check or credit card TRF-DIRECT - automatically transfer funds ($85/month; $250/quarter; $1,000/year…) If 10% of your club members join the PHS, your club is already at $100 per member, with 90% of your club yet to donate. 7

What Can You Do to Help? Make a PHS presentation to your club or invite a Speaker from the District Make a personal solicitation to potential donors Provide special recognition to your PHS members
