Child Labor Laws Lesson 14.1

Review CA Child Labor Laws, 2013 16 & 17 year olds According to CA law how many hours a day must one go to school to be employed? Whom must have a work permit? What’s the maximum hours that can be worked on a non school day? What’s the maximum number of hours worked on a school-day? What job doesn’t require 16 and 17 year olds to be paid minimum wage? What are the “occupational restrictions”? Why do you think there are no federal restrictions on agricultural workers? Why do you think California laws are more restrictive than federal laws? Why has the state put so many restrictions on 16 and 17 year olds in the workforce?
