Cinderella PARTNER activity At the top of your paper, write the title, author*, and culture of each fairy tale. Next, create a graphic organizer which depicts the similarities and differences evident in the two tales you selected. Focus on how the following specific elements are the same and/or different: 1. Type of “Cinderella” character 2. Obstacles faced by the “Cinderella” character 3. Magical transformations 4. Stepmother and godmother figures 5. Cultural specifics and details 6. Theme(s) Do NOT simply state the answers, EXPLAIN them. For example, do not simply state that the Chinese Cinderella is named Yeh-Shen, explain how she is a Cinderella. The end product should be colorful and include visuals. *Include the author if applicable.

Summarizer: Ticket Out the door In order to summarize your learning for this lesson, respond to the Essential Question: How does the “Cinderella” archetypal situation reflect both individual culture’s particular points of view AND universal meanings? Your answer should be in paragraph form; 5 to 7 sentences. Cite at least one piece of textual evidence in your response. Citation = (Author’s last name). Citation = (“Title of the story”). Don’t end your paragraph with your quote. It should be used in the middle, and the remainder of the paragraph should analyze and explain your evidence.
