A Day at the Zoo by Mrs. Ebert’s Class 3-27-12

Sophia Sea Lion Sometimes sea lions get out of the water. They like to swim in the water and stay in it. Sometimes they fight over the water. They don’t share the water because they don’t want to share the water. I think these sea lions are really cool.

Bryce Sea Otter Sea otters can go on the shore, and they can dive off the edge into the water. They can do a lot of tricks. Sea otters eat fish. They live in the ocean. I think they do awesome tricks!

Sydney Stingray Stingrays can sting. I don’t know how they sting. They have dots. Stingrays have tails. Stingrays live in the water.

Lilla Fish This fish is really big. Fish have tails. There were more fish in there. The tank has rocks in it. These fish live in a zoo. People get to see the fish. Fish smell bad.

Skyelor Chipmunk Chipmunks are small. They are fast. They live in dirt. They can climb trees. I think it looks like a squirrel. When we were at the zoo the chipmunk climbed on rocks.

Kaitlyn Elephant Elephants are heavy. Elephants have big ears. Elephants clean themselves with water using their trunk. This is a baby elephant. I thought it was really small. The zoo workers are cleaning it.

Dylan Lion Lions have long hair. Lions have claws. When I saw him, he was scary! Because he has big teeth. Lions live in Africa, but this lion lives in the zoo. Lions can growl really loud. Lions can run very fast. This lion can’t bite you because he’s in a cage.

Jayden Grizzly Bear Grizzly bears can eat fish and water. When it’s dark bears can go to sleep and snore. Two grizzly bears play together. Grizzly bears can climb. Grizzly bears can eat fast. Grizzly bears have fur.

Dakota Leopard Leopards can run very fast. They hunt for prey. Leopards can have babies. They are called cubs. At the zoo this leopard was chasing the black leopard. The leopard does look kind of cool!

Daniel Black Leopard Black leopards can go really fast. They also can jump really high. They can run fast to catch food. The black leopard looked really cool. You can still see its spots through its black fur. The zookeepers were feeding it when I saw it. It was eating meat. There were baby leopards.

Camryn Giraffe I didn’t go to the zoo, but I like giraffes. They have a long neck. They have babies. They eat grass. They have long tongues. They are different colors. Giraffes are big!

Mia Lemurs Lemurs climb on trees. They like to climb on gates. They play with each other. They like to swing. They like to hang. They are medium kind of animals. Lemurs live in the forest.

Nathan Komodo Dragon The Komodo Dragon looks scary! They have sharp nails. They have a long tongue. It doesn’t move that much. It is fat. It has 4 legs. The Komodo Dragon has a long body. It looks like it has sharp teeth.

Casey Alligator I love alligators. This alligator stays still. He is special because he is white. I’ve never seen a white alligator. Alligators eat fish. Alligators live in the water. Alligators have sharp teeth. He is a lot scary!

Jacob Chameleon The chameleon has a long tail. It can eat insects. It can climb trees. It looks left and right for a bug. Chameleons change colors to show they are mad or happy. This chameleon watches out for other creatures.

Aaron Snake Snakes squeeze your hand. This snake slithers. It also sticks out its tongue. This is a big snake. It was hiding when I saw it. I saw two snakes in this cage. I think it was trying to get out of the cage!

Ellah Ostrich The ostrich can run fast. It can eat. I don’t know what it eats. The ostrich goes in the bird group. They have wings, but they can’t fly. It drinks water. The ostrich has 2 feet.

Gavin Tree Frog Tree frogs are big. They can climb up trees. I like tree frogs. Tree frogs are not mean. Some of them are poisonous. Some tree frogs have red eyes. They are not easy to see when they are in front of green stuff. Tree frogs eat bugs.
