Project ECHO® Northeast Ohio Medical University:  Using telecommunications technology to build expertise and enhance the care of persons with complex conditions in your communities Patrice (Patti) Fetzer, LISW-S Director, Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center Department of Psychiatry Northeast Ohio Medical University Introduce topic – telecommunications technology that is relatively new to Ohio, but we are the 1st of 2 new universities in Ohio to use this platform (some of you may know me from Stark County when we piloted the Crisis Text Line – Nancy Lublin has given Ohio a shout out for our leadership/progress with Crisis Textline dissemination at 1 state conference and 2 national conferences in which I was in attendance.

Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center at NEOMED BeST Center’s mission: Promote recovery and improve the lives of as many individuals with schizophrenia as quickly as possible Accelerate the use and dissemination of evidence-based and promising practices for schizophrenia treatment and recovery Build capacity of organizations and systems to provide and sustain a continuum of treatment and recovery options for people affected by schizophrenia and their families BeST Center offers: Expert Training, Consultation and Program Evaluation Advocacy and Public Education BeST Center established: Department of Psychiatry, Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2009 Supported by Peg’s Foundation and other funders Seeking strategies to help us disseminate our practices – from science to service - accessible, affordable. Project ECHO is 1 tool that we have recently been piloting.

What Participants Are Saying Excellent new approach to education, and I both enjoy it and learn from it. This is a very evolved way to network with our peers and to be able to pick some of the most experienced brains about clients in our treatment programs. Really enjoy the quick presentations. They get right to the point and provide useful information. Thanks so much for compiling the recommendations. They are tremendously helpful.
