2 WHAT IS NEIGHBORHOODHELP™?
A unique interdisciplinary educational model, that involves collaboration with our community partners to: 1. Expose medical, nursing, social work and other FIU students to the social determinants of health 2. Provide services to medically underserved communities by harnessing FIU’s educational resources through an Urban Coalition

9 We are interested in which areas of the healthcare system need to be expanded or developed to take advantage of new opportunities What intrinsic or instrumental ‘value’ could be assigned to a “household-centered care” approach to healthcare provision? What human, environmental, social and cultural characteristics explain the construct of a “household?” The working definition of household centered care is an approach to healthcare that assesses and mitigates the impacts of household social determinants of health on individual patient outcomes. That said, the smallest unit of care is not the patient, but rather the entire household.
