Liberian Studies Association Annual Conference Conference Description Liberian Studies Association (LSA) Annual Conference  50th Anniversary Conference of the Liberian Studies Association- LSA at Half Century: Reflections, Explorations, and New Discoveries  Dates, Time, and Location April 19 - 21, 2018  Rochester Institute of Technology Importance of this conference to your field This is relevant to my field because I am interested in research in post- conflict Liberia, particularly how the members of the diaspora community can contribute to maintaining the peace and building the economy. This conference is attended by multi-disciplinary professionals who are interested in post-conflict development, particularly for the country of Liberia.

Clinical Interventions for Refugee and Traumatized Children in Post-Conflict Liberia Provide a summary of your experience/presentation/panel discussion (use two slides). Please note the faculty member, graduate students, and/or department that you worked with on this research.

Clinical Interventions for Refugee and Traumatized Children in Post-Conflict Liberia Provide a summary of your experience/presentation/panel discussion. I was invited to submit my conference article for consideration for inclusion in a special issue of the LSA journal. I will be submitting for this. Emmanuel Oritsejafor, the Editor of the Liberian Studies Journal, has asked me to edit a special issue of the journal. The theme is  " REFLECTING ON LIBERIA'S PAST AND PRESENT, AND CHARTING THE COURSE FOR THE FUTURE." The theme was intentionally made broad in order to include issues pertaining to Liberia's past, present and future, as well as to accommodate various disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches. Against this background, I am writing to invite you to contribute an article to the special issue of the journal, which I will be editing on the aforementioned theme. Please feel free to choose any topic of your choice. If you accept my invitation to participate. I would like to request that you please send me an Abstract that outlines: 1)Your Topic; and 2) the research problem or question(s) that the article will seek to address. Please send me your Abstract by May 15, 2018. The full article will be due on September 1, 2018.

Benefit of Travel Discuss how you benefitted from this travel (networking, dissemination of research, new ideas, etc). I benefitted from this travel by getting the opportunity to network, get feedback on my dissertation proposal and to get new ideas for further collaborative research.

Publication(s) Provide details of publications (if applicable—if not please use the final slide for any additional information you would like to share). At the completion of the conference, the conference planners notified us that a book editor at Cornell University approached them regarding the possibility of publishing an edited book volume of papers presented at the LSA conference. I will be submitting my paper to be considered for inclusion.
