2 The Association ATEE is an international not for profit association founded in 1976 and based in Belgium; It is a membership-based association; The ATEE members are both individuals (researchers, teachers & students) and institutions (Universities & Research Institutes).

3 Structure The General Assembly The Administrative Council
The Research & Development Centres (RDCs)

4 Aims To contribute to the development of both initial and continuous teacher education at all levels; To promote scientific research and the dissemination of related results.

5 Working Groups The Research & Development Centres (RDCs) are organised around different themes. The 14 RDCs are communities where Teacher Educators from all over Europe and beyond meet, exchange ideas and co-operate. The main activities are shared research, EU funded projects, publications and the organisation of thematic seminars.

6 The RDCs Are the core of the association;
Provide the main platform for dialogue, exchange and joint international activities between individuals and institutions.

9 RDC Educational Management and Leadership - Mission
Strive for quality in educational leadership (principally, though not exclusively, in Europe) through: developing active research networks sharing and critically reflecting on theory and practice; conceptualising and communicating experiences through a variety of means; providing professional development opportunities for leaders, prospective leaders and researchers in formal and informal contexts.

2012 Conferences Winter Conference Professional Development of teacher educators: Bringing together policy, practice and research University of Coimbra, Portugal 2-4 April This is the first-ever conference to focus on teacher educators, who are involved in the initial and continuous professional training to improve the quality of school teacher.
