EETT (Enhancing Education Through Technology) Grant Our process for transforming classrooms to include 21 st century tools and skills Collaborative effort between the district, schools, and students

Targeted 5 th, 6 th and ELL students (grades 3 -8) within one feeder system in Collier County Targeted teachers involved in intense training and coaching School Administrators and district personnel including subject area and ELL coordinators

Teachers will exhibit competency in creating instructional environment that authentically embeds Web 2.0 technologies through project based learning opportunities Increase academic performance in the target population in science and language arts

Teachers participated in Florida Digital Educator Training Summer 2008 Teachers participate in every other week after school training in Web 2.0 tools, technology integration and project based learning Provision of one-to-one laptops for all students in targeted teachers classes

May 2008 Teacher participants identified June 2008 Teachers attend Florida Digital Educator July –August 2008 Prepared laptop, software, peripheral orders August 2008 – September 2009 Teacher Training/Curriculum Writing/Action Research September 2008 Placed laptop orders November 2009 Placed laptops in classrooms (finally) Throughout – monitor progress

Trainings include but are not limited to Angel Wikis Podcasting Voki Photobucket Blogging Social bookmarking Discovery Science Probeware Laptop Care and Maintenance Classroom Procedures Shared Best Practices Lesson Planning/Writing Marzano and Project-based learning strategies

Provides vehicle for teachers to evaluate changes in classroom practice Monitored by Mentors Teachers address REAL issues in their own classrooms
