Albania is across the sea from Italy’s bootheel. Rugged mountains run along the borders. Inside, the land is hilly. Near the sea coast, the land flattens out. Most people live on the flatlands, where they grow grains and raise livestock. Summers are hot and dry. Winter is cool and wet.
