Goal setting Ask/Explain why goal setting is important and how this affects their learning Setting goals helps: Them to feel motivated Gives them something to work towards Provides a sense of achievement when its finally reached Student to think about the steps needed to reach their dream/career/job/college/university etc

Where do you see yourself in 2021? Draw a spider chart or mind map and think about: Your career/job Where you will live Travel/Holidays Family Possessions Education Lifestyle In 2021 the girls will be 25/26 years old

Identify 4 steps needed to get there Paramedic GCSEs incl Science A-Levels/University Driving Licence Job with Ambulance Service Nursery Nurse GCSEs/WRL College course Nursery placement Job as Nursery Nurse Students can either choose jobs and identify the steps needed to get there or if they don’t know about a career they should identify generally how they are going to achieve their future life in 2021 Ask students to be as exact as possible e.g. Teacher, GCSEs, A-Levels incl chosen subject, University course in subject, PGCE, Teaching job WRL= Work Related Learning

GCSEs is the first step on the ladder to helping you reach your goals Final Advice… If you don’t know where you are going you’ll never get there… …. If you don’t see the point of doing something you’ll never put the effort in….
