Green Schools Mentor Responsibilities: Provide sustainability expertise and guidance at your assigned school. 4 hours per month during the school year. 3 in-person school visits. 2-hour Green School Mentor training workshop. Support application process for the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools Award.

GREEN TIES Mentor Program Schedule October 16, 2013 Official launch of the 2014-2015 Mentor Program January 31, 2014 Deadline for Mentors to register February 28, 2014 Deadline for Schools to register By February 28, 2014 Participate in 2-hour Mentor training (date TBD) By March 31, 2014 Begin with a site visit and building walkthrough By May 1, 2014 Establish goals with school’s green team Summer 2014 Summer fun activity with school’s green team (optional) September 2014 Participate in Green Apple Day of Service Oct/Nov 2014 Submit Green Ribbon App (if applicable), check-in w/ USGBC CO February 2015 Visit school to celebrate mid-term successes & evaluate progress April 2015 Visit school and check-in with USGBC Colorado May 2015 Publish and celebrate your success!
