The Brief: Linking schools with professional mentors to plan and implement sustainable initiatives at schools in Colorado Provide schools with resources and support year round. Assist schools who wish to pursue the US Department of Education Green Ribbon Award Program.

Green Schools Mentor Responsibilities: Provide sustainability expertise and guidance at your assigned school. 4 hours per month during the school year. 3 in-person school visits. 2-hour Green School Mentor training workshop. Support application process for the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools Award.

Green Schools Mentor Goals Help students and teachers green their schools! Lower school operating & maintenance costs. Energize sustainable practices in schools. Encourage students to think creatively about sustainability. Help schools apply for the Green Ribbon Award
