The Odyssey: Unit Objectives

By the end, you should be able to answer these questions What is the role of symbolism in how people give value to their lives? Do heroes have responsibilities? How does understanding the historical and cultural context of a piece of writing help the reader identify a theme of the text? How does great literature reflect life? What character traits are important for helping anyone on a journey to gain wisdom along the way? What are the major features of an epic? How do these features connect to the modern world?
