Population Basics Birth Rate per 1000 in one year Death Rate per 1000 in one year Life Expectancy-Average lifespan of people within the country Rate of Natural Increase- Birth Rate minus death rate Immigration-Number of people coming IN Emigration-Number of people EXITING

Health Infant Mortality- number per 1000 that die before age 1 Child Mortality-number per 1000 that die from 1-5 years old Doctors: number of doctors per 100,000 people

Age and Distribution Minority- Smallest groups that make up part of the population. Ethnic Distribution-% of population that are in different ethnic groups Under 18 and over 65- Dependents, counting on someone else to take care of them Population Density- number of people per square mile

Economy GDP-Gross Domestic Product- total value of goods and services produced within a country in one year Per Capita GDP or Income: average income of the population (average individual income) Import/Export- amount of income from those areas Balance of Trade-look at Import/Export. If export is higher it has a positive balance.

Education Literacy Rate-Number or Percent of Population that can read or write, basic levels High School Graduate or Higher degrees
