SWBAT understand and outline features of a broadcast news story DO NOW DISCUSSION: How is a broadcast news story different than a newspaper story on the same topic? HOMEWORK: Watch ½ hour of local news and write down the order of the news stories. Headline one, two, three. (What do you notice about the order?) DUE WEDNESDAY

QUICK GUIDE TO BROADCAST TERMS SOT: Sound on Tape This is when you see a person being interviewed on camera VO: The reporter does a Voice Over while you watch pictures This is when you see different video shots Standup: You see the reporter B-Roll: The video they use and put together to put in a news package
