Why OIF ExistS? Mission Statement Seeking, receiving and managing funds and real personal property for the benefit of Optimist International and its Member Clubs in its charitable, literary and educational activities. OIF has been helping Optimist International with Programs and Services since 1971.

2017/18 OIF Leadership OIF Board of Directors: OIF is led by a Board of directors that is elected by OI members. Each March, a new member is Elected to serve a 4-Year Term. Current Members; Sandy Williams – President Melvin Bannister – President Elect Bill Meyers – Treasurer Jan OORD Graves – Board Member Don Sievers – Board member and past International OI President OIF staff: Craig Boring – Executive Director • Shenita Taylor – Senior Director, Donor Services Patti Ashby – Donor Services Coordinator • Dana POGUE- Admin Assistant OIF Board of Directors are OI members who have served as District Foundation Rep and believe in the mission and vision of OIF.

How Does OIF Support Optimist International? Scholarships: Provide scholarships to all Districts for Oratorical, Essay and CCDHH World Oratorical Championship: Provides Scholarships to the Regional Winners for U.S. and International Contestants Assist OI with Fundraising from outside organizations for the World Oratorical Championship and JOI Supports the Reel Optimism Video Contest: Provides the awards for Winning entries New Club Building Grants: Provides $100 grants to New Adult and JOI Clubs Chartered with greater than 25 members OIF Budgets up to $10,000 per District for Oratorical, Essay and CCDHH scholarships. In addition, OIF supports the World Oratorical Championship.

How Does OIF Support OI Clubs? Club Grants: Info on OIF Website Club Grant - $500 grant for new projects. Application process open 1/2/18 through 3/9/18. annually 20 grants are awarded CCC Matching Grant - $1000 grant for Childhood Cancer projects Disaster Relief Grant - $1000 grant for clubs to work in their communities after a natural disaster. Contact Benny Ellerbe at OI for more info Ongoing grant opportunities for Clubs to take advantage of annually. Information on each program is on the OIF Website.

How Does OIF Support Clubs? Club Resources PasS Through Accounts Allows donors to receive tax deduction benefits for making donations for your club Easy Application Process Quick turnaround of funds back to your club Club Campaign Accounts Great vehicle for clubs to accumulate funds for future charitable projects 3% simple interest paid prorated over the year Quarterly reporting Easy withdrawals OIF assist clubs with solicitation and management of funds they received from outside sources, fundraisers and members.

How Does OIF Fund Ongoing Projects Member Donations Club Donations Endowments and Sponsorships Outside Revenue Investment Resources Member and Club donations are the backbone of our revenue generation. Optimist members supporting OIF so we can provide needed funding to OI for programs and services.

Challenge WE challenge Every club to Support OIF so we have a strong financial position to meet the opportunities that will present itself as the oi Mission moves into the next century Each Club make a donation as they see fit Recommendation – Strive for the Dollar a Day Program(365 Patch) Benefit – Increased Funding for new Programs Present OIF to Club members Recommendation – Increase Dime a Day participation Benefit – Every 1% we grow In membership participation is $18,000 for new programs Participation in the Grant opportunities Club Grant, CCC Matching Grant, Reel Video Contest, New Club, New Joi Club Benefit – Clubs can have extra funding to start new projects or Enhance existing ones. OIF is only as successful as it is because of the OI members and clubs. We rely on your generosity to help spread the mission of Optimist International.
