Arch205 building construction wall systems

walls Walls are vertical construction of a building that enclose, separate and protect its interior spaces. Walls can be loadbearing or non-loadbearing structures. Loadbearing walls support imposed loads from roof and floors, withstand horizontal wind loads and transfer these loads safely to the ground foundation. Non-loadbearing walls are infill structures that are not designed to support load transfer. Also known as curtain walls.

Walls- performance Walls on a whole should protect the interior spaces from weather conditions by controlling passage of heat, Infiltrating air, sound, moisture and water vapor. Exterior walls should be durable (long lasting) and weather resistant. Walls should have the specified fire- resistance rating. Walls should be able to support door & window fixing, finish materials and accommodate the outlets of mechanical and electrical services.

CONCRETE COLUMN Concrete columns are designed to resist applied forces. It has vertical and lateral reinforcement.
